Meet Julie

Therapy should be a place where you can exhale.

You don’t have to have the right words, know exactly what’s wrong, or arrive with a plan. You can come as you are: overwhelmed, uncertain, frustrated, grieving, stuck, or simply knowing that something in your life needs to change.

I’m Julie Taylor, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than two decades of experience supporting people through difficult seasons of their lives. My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and practical. I believe people grow when they feel truly seen and understood, not judged, analyzed, or told who they should be.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, and burnout as well as those who want to build greater confidence and create a life that feels more like their own.

My work draws from CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy, but I don’t believe therapy should feel like a formula. We’ll use the approaches and tools that make sense for you, your experiences, and what you want to change.

Therapy isn’t only about feeling better. It can also be about understanding yourself differently, trusting yourself more, and deciding what you want the next part of your life to look like.

A Little More About Me

Outside the therapy room, I’m someone who values connection, humor, curiosity, and a life that feels fully lived. I love travel, being outdoors, time near the water, good conversation, and, as you may have noticed, my dog.

I believe the experiences we have outside of our professional roles shape who we are, too. I bring that humanity into my work. I don’t expect you to leave parts of yourself at the door, and I don’t pretend to be a blank slate on the other side of the room.

You’ll find me to be warm, straightforward, curious, and very human.

Therapy with me is a conversation.

I’m not a therapist who sits silently and leaves you wondering what I’m thinking. I’m engaged in the process with you. I’ll listen carefully, ask questions, notice patterns, offer perspective, and sometimes gently challenge you when I think it might help.

There is room for seriousness here, but there is also room for humor. You don’t have to edit yourself or perform a particular version of who you think you’re supposed to be in therapy.

Over time, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where you understand not only what you’re feeling, but why, and begin to trust yourself enough to decide what you want to do with that understanding.
